Intelligent Documentation A subsidiary of a New Zealand university and tertiary education provider specialising in motivational and educational learning for more than 35000 adult learners has sought the Enterprise Document Management Services of NuNet for digital archiving of more than 700,000 student records by customising a web based application. A team of engineers implemented the project onsite and trained the client's staff for forming an in-house team for continuation of the work on regular basis. The solution facilitates an easy document or data acquisition with comprehensive search facility, powerful document view ensuring watertight security with efficient workflow for document processing. Technology Platform The application is a multi-tiered platform independent document management and workflow solution that built using robust server-side Java and J2EE technologies. It works on Windows, Linux and Unix operating systems, industry standard databases such as MS-SQL, Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL and application servers such as BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, and web-servers such as IIS, iPlanet and Apache. It also provides an XML-based API for System Integration with 3rd party business applications. Solution Provided

The architecture of this application provides the facility of mapping multiple forms with multiple workflow engines. Easy document acquisition; convenient information management; comprehensive searches; powerful document view; efficient document processing through workflow and watertight security. Ensures a dependable digital archival, fast retrieval and efficient distribution that is designed for rapid deployment, simplified integration and enterprise scalability. It also supports workflow by means of routing and tracking of documents and provides a means to manage the entire document lifecycle process. The solution facilitates widely accepted and easy-to-use form creating method that helps in retaining the current document format and allows the forms to be scanned and then converted to PDF Forms that can be put up at a URL for access to its users. The data filled by the user in the PDF Form will be automatically populated into the OmniDocs Workflow variables associated with the Process. The application supports response tracking facility, automatic fetching of data from any third party backend system and also ensures digital signature support.

Successful implementation of the project has viably served the client requirements both operationally and commercially and the project is being extended for implementation at enterprise level to the entire student records of the university.
