A Healthy Practice A leading Australasian healthcare solution provider based in New Zealand for the last two decades has continuously been evolving leading edge clinical and practice management software products that are used by over 70% of General Practitioners (GPs) in Australia, New Zealand, USA and parts of Asia. As part of their business realignment, the company has decided to outsource all product re-engineering, product revamping, product development and maintenance. NuNet has been awarded the task of building a team in India for these tasks. Under the proprietary Technology Labs and Services (TLS) delivery model, NuNet has been successfully working with this client in meeting their business requirements. Complexities The development has been preceded by an extensive reverse engineering of the products due to non-availability of technical documentation of the concerned health products. Migration from patient centric accounting to corporate centric accounting mode; online integration with Pharmac & HealthPac Servers for eApprovement using XML web services and integrating with HL7 protocols are some of the challenges faced by NuNet TLS teams. The existing primary health care products are developed in Delphi using Interbase and are under evaluation for migration to .Net technologies. Solutions & Services The clinical and practise management software has been developed in a modular fashion to allow the GPs to register for the modules they wish to use. Access to additional modules involves the entry of a special key which gives access to the new modules.

A patient and government agency billing system approved for use in both Australia and New Zealand with invoicing, statements, electronic transmission of government schedules, banking, reporting, etc. A comprehensively featured clinical record system developed record all of the clinical assessments, plans, diagnoses, prescriptions and referrals, which is customised for both Australian, and New Zealand General & Specialist practice. Other modules include document management, recall, screening and health assessment and management tools. Development of powerful data management tool that warehouses health management information and products associated with the management of residential care facilities. Data Management software enables the health administrators and funding agencies for the delivery of capitated funding, public health interventions, sector planning. It helps in tracking patient demographics, interface with MS Office and mapping systems for the plotting of populations and health information. Built in database has important data such as ethnicity, deprivation indices, geo-codes, occupation, utilisation data and critical health events. Residential care management software administers modern residential care facilities. It has a comprehensive resident's database consisting of demographic details, national health insurance etc. An admission & discharge module is added to keep a chronological record of the movements of each resident for building the global database for the residential facility.

Total outsourcing to NuNet has enabled the client a cost savings of 30-40 percent in the process and the captive resources at existing technology labs and services are being enhanced to gear up for higher load of work.
